The George Inn
Simon and Katie welcome you to the George Inn, Gurney Slade
The George Inn is a traditional 17th century coaching Inn located close to Glastonbury, the cathedral city of Wells, and the historic market town of Shepton Mallet, with both Bristol and Bath only a short distance away.
After nearly 250 years of (recorded) life in the village of Gurney Slade the George has seen many changes, most recently the addition of a dining area to the rear of the pub and the conversion of the old cottage and restaurant to ensuite Bed and Breakfast accommodation. There is a locals bar and games room with pool, darts and Shove Ha'penny at the front of the pub with the lounge bar and dining area located to the rear. There is also a seperate function room with bar and skittle alley to be found in the mature gardens to the rear of the pub.
Restaurant
Our Restaurant is open Tuesday to Saturday from midday until 3pm, and 6pm until 9pm, a bar menu is also available during the restaurant opening hours. Traditional Sunday Roast is served Sundays from midday until 5pm along with a selection of our regular menu items. Sample menus and details of special events can be found on the restaurant page.
